Out with the Old and In with the New!

A round up of the first semesters events and activities, and what we can look forward too in the spring semester. We've had welcome dinners, Thanks Giving dinners, and now Christmas dinners, with even a spot of ten-pin bowling in between. Its certainly been quite a hectic semester to say the least. But now its time to sit back and relax and soak up some Christmas joy. Unless your doing a thesis that is! A lot has happened since the summer, but it only seems like yesterday that we were all celebrating La Merce. Thanks to the student council, our students and professors have been able to enjoy a range of activities and events this semester. Over 90 people attended last weekends Christmas dinner, and what a dinner it was. An all you can eat Indian buffet and cheap drinks at hot bar, a great way to round off the semester. Thanks Giving also allowed our students to experience some real American culture, with a fantastic turkey dinner and American football. On an academic note, this semester has also seen the start of both the Investment club and the Entrepreneurship club, which students are now invited to join. These will be developed more over the course of the next semester, and I will be writing about both on this blog in due course. So if your interested, be sure to keep an eye out! As far as next semester is concerned, well its more of the same. Hard work and lots of fun! We will have a host of activities, including paint-balling, beach volleyball, a combined football tournament and barbecue, as well as a ski trip in early february. And of course after the Easter break we also have La Salle festival week in May, which includes our traditional events of international food day, a football tournament, and rock climbing. So theres already lots to look forward too, and I'm sure the student council will have plenty more to offer as the semester draws on. And now Christmas is nearly here and the holidays have almost begun. We wish all our La Salle students and professors safe travels as they make their way back to their respective countries for the holidays, and we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We are looking forward to seeing you back again in 2014, rested and ready to go for round two!
