The Mobile World Congress 2015

Soon, it will be time for the event of the year, the Mobile World Congress. This will be the tenth time the congress is held in Barcelona. The congress is organised by the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation, which is an initiative focusing on transforming Barcelona into a world reference of mobile technology.

The congress will last for four days, from the 2nd to the 5th of March. Last year, the conference had more than 80,000 attendees from more that 200 different countries. The conference gives the attendees learning and networking opportunities, product showcases, inspiration and innovation. In addition, through more than 40 conference sessions, the world's largest mobile industry exhibition also features special programs and events.

It is predicted that the congress will have even more attendees this year than last. The event attracts not only people from the mobile industry, but also people from other industries that are being transformed by mobile technology.

The mobile industry is experiencing high levels of growth and unlimited opportunities, but it also faces challenges. The program of the Mobile World Congress 2015 will cover contemporary and future mobile industry trends highlighting specific areas of growth and opportunity.

The conference will bring attention to the industry by bringing industry leaders together to discuss the key topics that are impacting the mobile industry. The main topics of this year's conference are predicted to be focused on connectivity and the expanded ecosystem surrounding smart phones, improvements of wearables introduced last year, 5G, management and processing of generated data, and security and privacy.

On the list of key note speakers at this year's conference we can, amongst others, expect HansVestberg (President and CEO of Ericsson), Ajay Banga (President and CEO of MasterCard), Bill McDermott (CEO of SAP), Carlos Ghosn (Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance), Mitchell Baker (executive chairwoman of Mozilla Foundation), Jimmy Wales (founder of Wikipedia) and Günther Oettinger (commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society of the European Commission), as well as Mark Zuckerberg (the founder, chairman and CEO of Facebook).
