Foundation of the Data Center

As long as we are starting a business we need to make sure of the prevalence of our institution in the future, this is the reason to make special emphasis on the quality of the first stage of our network. With deployment of our network core, we will show too which we want to be the main qualities of our network.

Our priorities at the very beginning are to set our service in an online platform, so our number of customers will grow exponentially. And finally, and because we are building the core of our online business, would be fine to contract a well-known data center, so our partners and customers will feel more comfortable doing any trade with us. This, are the reasons (high availability, scalability and a trusted provider) why we are going to deploy our data center with IBM technology.

One advantage of IBM in front of other providers is the big ability to customize your service in their data-centers. There will be periods on which you will need a high processing capacity rather than a large storage capacity, and other periods which you may want the opposite; IBM not only have plans oriented to cover this need but also teams of professionals prepared to help you out with this changing environment of your business.

Another point to consider is that the data-centers of IBM are equipped to provide cloud managed services, this feature it’s interesting since your services may be reachable with a smaller overhead time, a higher resilience to failures and an API which you can use to customize the operation mode of your business.

Irrespective of the brand of servers that we decide to contract for our data-center it’s still true that we need some hardware of layer 2 and 3 for our business corporation LAN, in fact there always will be the need to connect our headquarters to the ISP and other institutions. And the points we will try to cover are: oriented to cloud networking, modular options, a well-trusted partner and support of good quality available.

These are the reasons why we are going to construct our LAN with Arista technology. But also we want to make special emphasis on the fact that Arista it’s lately developing models oriented to work at high speed of 5 terabits per second of switching capacity, built to be modular and designed to work with virtualized servers up to 10GbE of speed per port…in other words, oriented to work with data-centers. We were specially surprised by the model of Arista 7500.

Finally we are going to comment which solution we will provide to cover the security issue. As your business it’s trying to grow and you are yet developing your network, you don’t know for sure the trends of your business in the future. You may want to control your services by user, application, time, QoS or others. And because you need to handle security problems fast and easily the service that you contract has to be easy to use.
