Fortinet Security Solution

Hello everyone ! Today we'll see what Fortinet has to offer to enhance the security of the data center.

We have a firewall solution of a new generation of firewall.

The concept is that the firewall has more feature than the classics ones.

This firewall is named FortiGate, its features are:

  • Firewall (of course)
  • IPS (Intrusion Prevention System)
  • Application Control
  • Reputations Services

The latest version of Fortigate is the Fortigate 3200D v5.2.4, build 5069. For the complete detail of te product, you can look it up here.

This Fortinet solution also provide one unique OS for all the network security.

It offer a control of all the security and networking capabilities in all the FortiGate NGFW (Next Generation FireWall) platforms accross the entire network. It improve the protection a lot.

99.3% of the current used exploit by hackers are blocked whcih is really good.

Also the FortiGate is certified by NSS labs that's a real plus to be certified by other security professionals.

They also have another solution which can be great in the data center which is a SDN security framework.

This solution seems really good, to make you see what it consist of let's have a look at this picture. (In case of bad quality just click on the picture or on this link.)

SDNsecu

And this solution support those features:

"Support for leading network virtualization and SDN platforms including VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, and OpenStack

Multitenant support and virtual domain support for network segmentation and security service function deployment

Extensible management interface – API’s for cloud automation and orchestration

Integrated "single pane-of-glass" management for consistent policy control and monitoring

Unmatched breadth of security portfolio and flexible deployment options"

For the data center we will use the SDN framework security but we're not sure yet to wether mix it with the Fortinet NGFW solution to be sure that everything is secure or to just use the SDN framework security.

As always check the links provided during this article to get more data about each solutions.

That's all for today, I hope you learn a few things and that you will keep following us.
