The URL, 3rd Spanish university according to U-Multirank

The U-Multirank has published the results of the last edition, positioning the Ramon Llull University (URL) as the 3rd best university in Spain and within the top 100 in Europe. This ranking, promoted by the European Commission, is a tool that evaluates the activity of universities in all its dimensions. Specifically, the U-Multirank analyses more than 1,800 universities in 92 countries, of which 79 are Spanish. It evaluates them based on 37 indicators, which are grouped into 5 dimensions:

  1. Teaching and learning
  2. Research
  3. Transfer of knowledge
  4. International orientation
  5. Contribution to regional development

The scores that the institutions obtain on each indicator can be: (A) very good, (B) good, (C) average, (D) below average and (E) weak. Of the 37 indicators analyzed this year, the URL gets 10 with the highest score (A) and 12 with a score above the average (B). In addition, it stands out very positively in the dimension of contribution to regional development, with 5 out of 6 indicators evaluated with a score above average. Also, in the knowledge transfer dimension, where 4 out of the 7 indicators obtain the highest score.

Among the indicators with the highest scores, the following stand out: international academic personnel, open access publications, spin-offs, publications cited in patents, graduates (degree) working in the region, graduates (master) working in the region, joint regional publications and publications regional with industrial partners. Taking these results into account, the URL is the 2nd in the Catalan university system, 3rd in Spain and 99th in Europe.
