Backers' Behaviour During the Assessment of Decision Making Investment in Crowdfunding

Last december, several PhD candidates of the Innova Institute shared their advances on their research works. Rosa Rudo, presented her research proposal under the topic of "Backers' Behaviour During the Assessment of Decision Making Investment in Crowdfunding". Below, you will find the abstract of her research-in-process:

"Crowdfunding is a new source of finance for entrepreneurs, which allows obtaining financial resource from a large group of non-professional investors (the “crowd”). This new phenomenon has different characteristics compared to the incumbent investors, so the research outputs from previous investigations might not fit into this phenomenon.

Specifically, the behaviour of the non-professional investors called backers is not clear, some research points out that some are rational and others naïve. It is important to study it to identify the high-potential entrepreneurs. The objective of this research is to shed some light on the backers’ behaviour identifying the cases in which backers invest after a rational assessment."

We would like to congratulate Rosa for her great job!
