Media Day 2010

The second edition of the Media Day was held last July the 2nd 2010 at the Media Dome La Salle. The Media Day is the yearly  encounter when all the researchers of CTMedia meet to learn, share and create new ideas. The day started with three key-note speaks that introduced inspiring ideas: Toni Miranda, from La Salle Technova Barcelona reviewed the current market and technology trends, Francesc Escudero, professor from the communications and electronics department, introduced LSMaker, a robot  that will be used for teaching and, finally Pol Pla, researcher at Fluid Interfaces Group at MIT MediaLab, described the projects he is involved in the design of new interfaces. The day continued with poster presentations of research performed at CTMedia, mainly by the PhD students. Right before lunch, a visit to the T-Systems Virtual Reality Centre that is located in our campus, was conducted. In the afternoon, brainstorming sessions, produced a bunch of  new ideas. We enjoyed the (media)day and we are already waiting for the next edition!.
