Transportation at night in Barcelona

Although I always end up taking a taxi after leaving a club at 4 or 5, it's interesting to take a look at the public transportation at night in Barcelona because it is CHEAPER. And also learn about why taxi would be a good option as well. Nitbus (click for detailed information) Nitbuses start from 11pm and goes until 5:30 in the morning. They are the same price as the fare in the morning so it is really fair. The only short comings are they have less lines and they only come every 20-30mins... So maybe you would like to take the metro or taxi in the winter... I always keep a copy of the Nitbus Map Metro Trains starts at 5am, so another option would be to party until 5 in the morning than take thefast and familiar green line, red line, blue line... They also open until later during weekends! Take a look at this Blog Barcelona - Metro Taxi, they also got information from 2010 with new prices. I prefer taking the taxi because waiting on the streets at night in Barcelona is not always safe as I heard many stories of my friends getting robbed. Luckily none of them got hurt (apart from the guys when they threw bottles at the thieves!!!!) Better safe than sorry! Ah and here's a site with general information about public transportation . I limit myself to only go to bars and clubs that are close to where I live because I don't want to take the nitbus or the metro or spend more than 20euros on taxis. I want to get home, and get home quick. Of course sharing cabs splits the bill just fine! But maybe if the metro opens all night on Fridays, why not?
