The closing ceremony of the “Talent and New Technologies” programme run by La Salle-URL took place on Saturday 10 November, in collaboration with the Caixa d'Enginyers Foundation. A total of 20 16-18 year olds who share an interest and a special talent for the world of new technologies, specifically ICT, have taken part.
The event was attended by Iñaki Irisarri, General Coordinator of the Caixa d'Enginyers Foundation, Maypi Torné, Marketing Director of La Salle-URL, and Eduard de Torres, the Programme Coordinator.
The course consisted of six sessions covering 3 technological areas: Development of mobile applications, Robotics at the Service of People and Internet Technologies and Cybersecurity. In these different areas the students have learned how to programme simple applications using free tools, and explored technologies that make the current connection possible and how to create and control robots using various tools.
The goal behind “Talent and New Technologies” is to promote the technological and innovative spirit among students, allowing them to discover technological advances in the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) sector. It will help them look at the work done by an engineer in sectors that will evolve tremendously in coming years, and in which there is a shortage of professionals throughout Europe.
