The European La Salle universities are holding the 8th edition of the LSdreams competition which targets pre-university students at La Salle schools aged between 16 and 20. The main objective of this competition is to promote the integration of ethical values in the development of research projects in order to improve their social environment.
LSdreams aims to convey a series of Lasallian values to the students such as teamwork, innovation, creativity and problem-solving, while at the same time boosting the creation of vocations in the knowledge areas of the projects in: Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, Health and Life and Earth Sciences.
Students wishing to take part must form a group of three then focus their project on improving their immediate surroundings. Each group will be supervised by a tutor from the centre who will guide and help them through the process.
In a bid to take full advantage of the international dimension and collaborative nature of the contest, students also have the opportunity to participate in the LSdreams collaboration project, which enables them to form a joint team made up of teams from two different schools, regardless of whether they are from the same country or not. This type of collaboration will be taken into consideration by the jury, who will decide on the winners of each of the five categories mentioned.
The winners of each category will travel to Barcelona, together with their supervisor, and stay there between May 11th and 13th to present their project at the La Salle-URL university campus. There will also be an LSdreams Extraordinary Prize for the project considered to be the best outright. The prize for this category will be an iPad mini for each member of the winning team and their supervisor.
The registration period for this competition is now open until November 12th. You can apply through the official website of the project.
