La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL, through its innovation park, La Salle Technova Barcelona, and the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB) have come together to inaugurate the BMP Accelerator, a programme to accelerate start-ups in the real estate sector. The goal of this programme is to provide start-ups with the tools to carry out innovative business initiatives and projects, as well as to develop market opportunities, obtain investment, prepare them to work together with corporations and encourage networking with potential partners.
Josep Miquel Piqué, Executive President of La Salle Technova Barcelona, highlighted the fact that “the Consortium understands and is interpreting the digital transformation, and that’s why this programme is so important, because of the way it connects mature companies with the new disruptive innovations of start-ups, and that's something that will provide us with the best of both worlds”. Pere Navarro, Special State Delegate of the Free Trade Zone Consortium, highlighted the involvement of the CZFB with this type of projects “as a tool for economic transformation via innovation and social commitment", after the programme for accelerating start-ups in the logistics market, the eDelivery Accelerator, came to an end last week. The CZFB continues in this line of work with the goal of “promoting those activities that improve people’s lives. We are going to continue collaborating and promoting this type of experience”, said Navarro.
The start-ups participating in this acceleration programme are 1001 portals, Alfred Smart Systems, Brichblock, Datare, Mayordomo, Nested, PropCrowd, Realo, Urbitdata, Viewtek and Zillios. All of them were part of the Proptech area of Barcelona Meeting Point 2018. The programme will hold one-on-one sessions with each of them to assess their needs and design a programme to bring value. Theory and practical sessions on marketing and sales techniques will be offered, as well as advise on how to achieve success in the investment rounds. Finally, meetings will be organised with key companies in the real estate sector in order to inform start-ups about the current needs of the sector and how they can help solve these needs and challenges. The companies already confirmed are Anticipa, APCE, Autonomy Capital, Colonial, Neinor, Shibsted Spain, Tinsa and JLL Real Estate.
The programme, which starts on 21 January, will end on 28 March 2019 as part of La Salle Technova Barcelona’s Tech Demo Day.
