From 16 to 18 October, the Fira de Barcelona convention centre will host the Healthio fair where the latest health innovations will be shown off, bringing together in one space the public, patients, professionals and companies in the healthcare sector. Through a range of different types of activities, Healthio is focused on health and well-being, the personalised medicine of the future, and chronic diseases and ageing.
La Salle-URL will be present at the fair with a stand (E510) where it will present its educational offerings in this field, the Master’s in eHealth, as well as offering workshops and conferences on the latest trends and applications and R+D+I demos by researchers from La Salle Campus Barcelona.
Participants in the interactive “eHealth La Salle Challenge” workshop will be able to experience La Salle’s original methodology of Learning by Challenge, by looking at health challenges et by experts in the area of health management from La Salle-URL. The 30-minute workshop will take place at La Salle's stand and will be repeated over the three days of the fair (Tuesday 16 October at 4.30 p.m. and 5.45 p.m., Wednesday 17 October at 12.15 p.m. and 1.30 p.m., and Thursday 18 October at 9.45 a.m. and 11.15 a.m.). There will also be various R+D presentations and demos held at the stand. Dr Raquel Ros, will present a robotics project for children with TBI using Pleo robots (16 October at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.), Dr David Fonseca will introduce the Edugame4Health project, a virtual reality system to improve acquisition of spatial awareness (17 October at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.) and finally, Dr Joan Lluis Pijoan will present the NVIS Project, a telemedicine system for remote villages in developing countries (18 October at 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.).
In the HEALTHIO Agoras Area and the Healthio Activities Area, various Campus research projects will be presented: the Telemedicine NVIS project by Dr Joan Lluis Pijoan (16 October at 11.45 a.m.); the artificial intelligence project titled “Tool to help characterise and diagnose melanoma” will be presented by Dr Elisabet Golobardes (16 October at 3.45 p.m.); and various end-of-master's projects from our eHealth Master’s students on the diagnosis of Oropharyngeal Dysphagia, Breast Cancer Surgery and the use of technologies in diagnosis.
