The awards ceremony included some words by Josep M. Santos, general director of La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL, in which he explained that this methodology is the product of extensive work across all levels of education, business challenges, and that the objective is for it to be extended to other areas beyond engineering next year. Agustín Zaballos, scientific director of the La Salle-URL Barcelona Institute of Technology, stressed that at La Salle, “our aim is to foster and develop interdisciplinary skills in our Master’s students and to bring companies and academic talent closer together, bridging the gap between business and university”.
The four groups of students then made their presentation to the jury and answered their questions. The jury was made up by Francisco Rodríguez, Manager of the Barcelona City Council’s Municipal IT Institute; Jordi Martí, President of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi District of the Barcelona City Council; Omar Capó Escrivà, CIO of the Godó Communications Group; José Antonio López Becerra, CIO of SABA Infraestructuras; Carla Becker, Project Manager of Telefónica; Àlex Llonch, SAP Executive Consultant at Lidl Espanya; and Joan Pujol, CEO of Calaf Group. After deliberations, the prize was awarded to the project produced for Oylo as the best of the first edition of the MaaS Awards. The project consisted of proposing an ecosystem to collect and process all the information generated by the system's firewalls and show any attacks that have occurred or may occur. The group was comprised of Andrés Valero and Francesco Karlo Velásquez from the Master’s in Cybersecurity and Álvaro Lluís Rodríguez and Moisés David Sánchez from the Master's in Big Data.
