The second of the three annual meetings of the FUNITEC Board of Trustees, the foundation that manages La Salle Campus Barcelona, has been held, and board members shared activity carried out so far this year as well as the results achieved and the lines to be pursued in the future.
In addition to the members Br. José Roman Pérez (Visitor from the ARLEP District), Br. Josep Canal, Br. Esteban Miguélez, Ramon Sangrà, Br. José Martí, Rafael Salvador, José Vilarasau, Albert Faus, Jordi Jover and Lluís Biosca, the meeting was also attended by members of the Management Team, Josep M. Santos, Francesc Miralles, Maria Pilar Torné, Josep Maria Ribes, Iñigo Pradera and the head of finance, David González.
The Management Team explained the evolution of FUNITEC up unti now, providing concrete information on the departments they represent. The team highlighted the university's positive trend, both in terms of the number of students and the new degrees on offer that are proving popular among students and the world of business, as well as the growth and international impact of the institution, one of the main areas they wish to pursue in the coming years.
Another item on the agenda was a presentation by the Management Team of the guidelines for the new 2019 to 2022 Strategic Plan. In order to draw up this Plan, a participatory process is being carried out in collaboration with people from all areas of the La Salle university community, and it also includes contributions from a group of national and international companies, institutions and entities.
During the meeting the various actions that will be carried out this year to mark the the tercentenary of the death of Saint Jean Baptiste de La Salle were also presented. On 14 May, the public day of commemoration of the Lasallian network worldwide, La Salle Campus Barcelona will inaugurate a sculpture of the founder, which is currently in the process of being created. Another of the goals of this jubilee year will be the investiture of an Honorary Doctorate by Ramon Llull University for a leading personality from the field of Architecture, proposed by La Salle's School of Architecture and Building Engineering, marking the school's 20th anniversary.
