Spain and Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the new European Union proposal to boost growth and innovation. This program has more than 80,000 million euros and will be implemented in the period 2014-2020. This initiative, part of the Europe 2020 strategy, is one of the pillars to get Europe into a stage of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

Horizon 2020 aims to be the driver of productivity for European companies and will become a new tool to catch the train of competitiveness.

We propose to meet - through Mr. Joan Majó - the challenges in which we try to advance to the Horizon 2020, the areas of activity and developments that occur in relation to the previous programs of innovation driven by the European Union. Also, we will review the opportunities that this initiative offers for Spanish companies.

Joan Majó is a Spanish businessman and politician, doctor in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He was the Minister of Industry and Energy during the II Legislature of Spain and Member of Parliament for the province of Barcelona.

Dr. Xavier Ferràs, Director of Business Innovation Centre of ACC1Ó, will chair the presentation of this conference.

This session is part of the activities of La Salle Innovation Club - AMETIC, a meeting point for companies and individuals engaged in business innovation.
