A Tough Choice
Graduation time!!
Graduating from High School and entering a new chapter is never easy. It is probably the best time of your life, throwing that graduation hat in the air and feeling free as a bird..however, this is when the real tough decisions come into play. What to do now? Where to go? Who should you listen to? A million questions race through our heads as we are making one of the most important life decisions yet. Applying for universities, let alone trying to pick which one you want to go to takes a lot of...endurance, I shall call it. The organization, communication, and determination becomes utterly most important and you have people telling you different things all the time. So who should you listen to? Your friends? Parents? Guidance counsellor? The choice is finally yours and you are now old enough and responsible for your own decisions. So, the most important part is staying organized during this period of time. There will be so many papers floating around and different application essays for schools which you do not want to mix up. Not many people know what exactly it is that they want to do when they start University. Most of those who did, changed their minds during the course of the 3 or 4 years they studied..and that is OK! Most people freak out because they don't know exactly what it is they want to work with in 10 years from now...that should not be an issue. Number one thing is that one studies something that they like in order to keep themselves motivated and interested in the subjects. The actual application process of applying to University can be tiresome. Be sure to have your letters of recommendation ready, converted grades if necessary, and a thrive to meet new people and do well! So don't base your entire decision on what your parents are telling you or where your friends are going - make the decision on your own, what feels best. I made the decision to move to Barcelona with my best friend from High School which has probably been the best decision made. The years we have spent together here and memories created would not have happened if we were to listen to what everyone else told us. When I made the decision to come to La Salle, I transfered from another University here in Barcelona. I was very impressed with the 'togetherness' that La Salle students had which was lacking at the previous uni. Everyone was always having so much fun and since we are such small classes everyone has the chance to get to know each other. That is one of my favorite things about going to a school like this is that even the teachers become your friends, easy to get to know people from freshman to seniors and the people you meet in University are said to be your friends for life. The school year is almost coming to an end..we have three weeks left of tough classes as the teachers squeeze in the last of presentations and hand-ins. Then 2 weeks of exams then SUMMER!! I think we are all itching for a little summer vacation now after a hard year. Third year at La Salle is definitely the toughest one considering work-load but we have learned A LOT! In the next couple of posts I will inform you of some of the great projects we have been involved in from Entrepreneur and Finance Clubs set up by our very own to managing projects with Media Pro and the CCCB. Not to mention the Model United Nations Conference in New York and loooads of other exciting projects.
