Analucia LeCompte, La Salle ex-student from Brazil, tell us about her work experience
In the summer of 2003, while I was studying at La Salle, Nestle headquarters of Spain gave me the opportunity to do an internship in their Purchasing department. It is with this experience, that my career as a negotiator begun. I moved from purchasing to sales soon after I graduated. I began my international career with IBNS, QCP and STRATEGIC MEDIA, independent press agencies that produce country economic reports around the globe. Backed up with names such as TIME, BUSINESSWEEK, FORTUNE, THE ECONOMIST, CONDE NAST PORTFOLIO and FOREIGN AFFAIRS, I had the chance to hold meetings with government officials and top private sector representatives in all continents. Besides of leading a team, doing market research, building a strategy and being responsible for the negotiation of corporate and institutional sponsorship, I had the chance to experience many societies and their different ways of doing business. I have identified some of the challenges faced by different industries in those countries, such as India, Ukraine and Oman, especially related to the deficiencies of collaboration between the private and public sectors. Analyzing different market economies, their strengths, challenges and weaknesses in various industries, made me realize that the study and review of public policy and its interaction with the private sector, is vital for the improvement of any economy and the efficiency of its players; which is why today I am on my second year of Masters of Public Affairs in Sciences Po-Paris.
