Halloween as a foreign student in Barcelona

Halloween in Barcelona means pumpkins, chestnuts, sweet potatoes and a mixture of cultures and traditions. Locals celebrate November 1st visiting and cleaning the graves of their beloved ones, eating toasted chestnuts and cooking -or buying- these baked traditional sweets made of almond, nuts and sweet potato. They are called panellets. Catalans are very proud of their traditions, so one of the advantages of being a foreign student in Barcelona is that everyone around will want to share some panellets with you, to show you how good they are. Don't miss the opportunity and taste them! They are delicious! Anglo-Saxon tratitions are becoming more and more popular, though, thanks to American movies and TV shows. So if you love witches, vampires, monsters and pumpkins with horrific smiles, you'll also have your share on October 31st . Some little kids are getting fond to all the treat and trick & candy stuff. And lots of youngsters dress up for the holiday, too. There are many Halloween parties around the city, most of them organized by night clubs. La Salle students joined their own official party at Sala Bikini, a classy night club and live music place in Diagonal, one of the main streets in Barcelona. Entrance plus two drinks for only 13 euros, a total bargain! Feeling grateful? Say thanks to our guys at GOA! GOA is a group made by students for students. They are in charge of welcoming newbies and organizing all sorts of activities for fun. Even La Salle BCN staff wanted to celebrate Halloween this year. La Salle Campus Barcelona changed its logo and organized a Halloween  Photocontest on its official Facebook Fanpage.  Folks are still sharing their Halloween pictures, with their horror costumes, masks and make ups, and some of them are freaking funny, indeed!
