The 9th edition of Tech Demo Day will be held on Thursday 4 April, and is organised by La Salle-URL through its innovation park, La Salle Technova Barcelona. The event will serve as a meeting point, with La Salle-URL bringing together a selection of 50 start-ups that can present their product or project to 50 investors and 50 corporations interested in technological innovations that can be applied to their businesses. TechDemoDay will open its doors from 9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with dedicated areas for start-ups, networking and conferences open to all attendees. Sign up in TechDemoDay.
TechDemoDay offers 50 of the best tech start-ups of the moment the chance to exhibit their projects in front of investors, major companies and other attendants, helping them to access business opportunities, visibility and a greater connection with the ecosystem. Start-ups such as MyWorkUp, incubated at La Salle Technova, which has just closed a €600K funding round, are an example of how new business initiatives participating in TechDemoDay can scale up with effective, disruptive value propositions.
The conference highlights include an exclusive talk by Prof. Jerome Engel (UC Berkeley), international expert in innovation, entrepreneurship and Venture Capital. At 10 a.m. he will offer a conference on connecting corporation strategies with technology-based start-ups in order to obtain a permanent flow of disruptive innovation. There will also be a round table of technology-based investors, corporations that are innovating through start-ups and entrepreneurial experiences that have emerged from La Salle Technova. At 3.30 p.m. there will be a Successful Start-ups round table with Wallapop, Glovo and Holaluz explaining their experiences.
At 4.15 p.m., the closing ceremony of the Barcelona Meeting Point - BMO Accelerator will be held, with the presence of Pere Navarro, Delegate of the Zona Franca Consortium. This accelerator for start-ups in the real estate industry has been in development at La Salle since January. Its goal is to provide start-ups with the tools to carry out innovative business initiatives and projects, as well as to develop market opportunities, obtain investment, prepare them to work together with corporations and encourage networking with potential partners. These start-ups will all have the opportunity to have a Booth and also offer a pitch at Tech Demo Day alongside companies taking part in the eDelivery Accelerator, the acceleration programme for the logistics market jointly developed by the two institutions, and new technology-based companies from Mobile World Capital's The Collider Program.
To round off the day, at 5.15 p.m. we will celebrate the awards ceremony for those start-ups that have achieved the best metrics in growth and impact over the last year.
