La Salle-URL and Universidad del Desarrollo of Chile Sign an Agreement Strengthening Their Partnership Through New International Master's Program Agreements

The agreement promotes joint programs in Project Management, Data Science, and Digital Transformation, enhancing academic mobility

La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, that integrates several areas of knowledge, and Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD) of Chile, a leading Latin American university recognized for its leadership in entrepreneurship and innovation, have strengthened and expanded their collaboration framework through the signing of two dual-degree agreements and the renewal of their academic partnership.

These agreements create new international opportunities for master's students in the fields of Business and Engineering. They include a dual-degree program between UDD’s MBA and La Salle-URL’s Master's in Digital Transformation, delivered in a hybrid format between Chile and Barcelona.

The agreement was signed by Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle-URL, and Federico Valdés Lafontaine, Rector of UDD. The partnership will facilitate student academic mobility, the development of shared educational pathways combining in-person and online learning between Barcelona and Santiago, Chile, and the mutual recognition of academic studies leading to postgraduate degrees awarded by both institutions.

In addition, an academic articulation pathway has been established between UDD’s Faculty of Economics and Business and La Salle-URL. This initiative will enable UDD Commercial Engineering students to pursue the University Master's Degree in Project Management at La Salle-URL. The program is taught on campus in English in Barcelona. Upon completion, students will earn a master's degree recognized by both institutions.

At the same time, students from various engineering disciplines within UDD’s Faculty of Engineering will be able to access La Salle-URL’s Master's programs in Project Management and Data Science. These programs are delivered on campus in Barcelona in either English or Spanish. The agreement facilitates the attainment of an official master's degree with mutual academic recognition.

Finally, the collaboration between UDD’s MBA and La Salle-URL’s Master's in Digital Transformation has also been renewed. The program follows a hybrid model that combines face-to-face teaching and online learning, including classes in Chile, virtual sessions, and a study period in Barcelona. This enables MBA students to complete part of their studies in Barcelona. Upon graduation, they may obtain degrees from both institutions.

These agreements highlight the importance of international partnerships as a driving force for university internationalization. By promoting shared academic programs, they strengthen student mobility between Barcelona and Santiago, Chile, and foster joint education in strategic areas such as project management, data science, and digital transformation.
