La Salle-URL opens a new delegation in Shanghai, China

China is the largest country of origin for international students and with good reason. A growing middle class and increased demand for international education have driven more students outside of their home country than ever before. Yet reaching out to this significant student audience has its challenges, with online restrictions and other gatekeepers creating barriers to foreign higher education institutions.

In order to work around these restrictions and to make strong connections with this important educational and corporate market La Salle URL decided to open a delegation in Shanghai, led by former BBA student Zi Wang who experienced studying and living in Barcelona as a student herself, what makes her the best ambassador to convey La Salle-URL's value proposition to the Chinese market.

In addition to elucidating what factors are most important to Chinese students in their decision-making process when it comes to looking for an international study destination, La Salle-URL also aims at connecting to like-minded universities and corporates in order to increase their global partnerships in a region that continues to be favored by European students as a study abroad destination and as a career driver.

Being present on WeChat has been one of the very first steps to be implemented as this channel is the main communication platform when it comes to engaging with students, academic and corporate partners.

La Salle Campus Barcelona, founding member of the Ramon Llull University, is one of the largest non-profit educational organizations with more than 65 university centers in 80 countries, 1.083 educational works, and more than 1 million students around the world.

The mission at La Salle Campus Barcelona is to offer advanced, high-quality training in a global context. Its goal is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to be highly effective as they develop their professional careers.
