The 6th Edition of 3 Day Start-up Barcelona will be held from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 March, offering university students the chance to train as entrepreneurs. The goal of the event is to encourage and channel the entrepreneurial spirit of university students. The event is co-organised by 3DS Spain and La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL, and will take place on the University Campus (Carrer Lluçanés, 43).
Over the course of the three days, a group of young university students will explore the steps to take to create a SPORTECH- and TRAVELTECH-based start-up. They will learn more about all the steps involved, from conception and development of the first prototypes, designing the business model to actual contact with the market and, finally, presenting to investors and business angels. All this under the watchful eye and supervision of mentors with lengthy experience in the sector.
On Friday, participants will put forward ideas for new start-ups, with the best ideas then being chosen. Over the weekend they will work on team projects to be able to present a prototype on the Sunday afternoon to investors. Once again, 3DS is being held in Barcelona in order to foster the values of entrepreneurship, confidence, sacrifice and self-sufficiency.
3 Day Start-up is a training initiative that pursues real learning through learning by doing. It is an event that is aimed at university students and participation is free.
406 editions around the world
The first edition was held at the University of Texas and it has already spread worldwide. Currently, more than 406 editions have been held in Germany, Holland, France, Portugal, Chile, China, Spain, and others, with more than 12,000 students having participated. Over the course of all these editions, a total of 119 start-ups have emerged, many of which have continued outside 3DS, obtaining more than $157 million in funding or entering start-up accelerators and incubators.
The registration process will be open until 15 February and the names of those selected will be announced at a later date. 3DS aims to equip young people with the tools to create their own future, as well as providing contacts to help them on their journey and the confidence to embark on the adventure of entrepreneurship.
