Last Saturday, February 17, La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL hosted two robot competitions throughout the day that brought together more than 140 children and young people, between 8 and 23 years old, who competed for different trophies.
On the one hand the VEX Robotics Competition was disputed, with the local competition of Barcelona in the categories of Middle / High School (12-18 years) and University (18-23 years). In total 11 teams participated, 70 participants, between the two categories, with international representation of a team from Senegal. This team from Senegal, Mbeurou Weigne, took the first position in the Middle / High category, followed by the Warriors and Genesis team, both from the Vedruna Vall School. In the University, the first prize was for Arlo of the Anna Gironella de Mundet Institute, in second position was Pucra, and in third position Roboscaspers. All of them have qualified for the national final of the competition that will take place on March 3 in Salt (Girona).
The ClauTIC Cup was also held, a robotics competition for young people from 8 to 18 years old, which this Saturday brought together 19 teams that played with a lot of emotion and nerves different challenges that put their robots to the test.
In addition to the robot competitions, during the day there were presentations and talks for all attendees. He particularly highlighted the session organized by ClauTIC, "Small great talents". Àlex Sicart was the keynote speaker, since only 18 years old is on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and explained his beginnings, new projects and the role of the blockchain in the future.
