Rise and fall

Neither Apple, Microsoft, Toshiba, IBM invented the portable computer or laptop. The company who invented the laptop was Osborne in 1981.

Adam Osborne was behind this company that was seen in those days like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates; the difference is today nobody knows who is Adam Osborne, even when Osborne Computer was the fastest growing company in Silicon Valley.

But Osborne Computer collapsed in 1983, due to some bad technical bets, and announcing a product too far ahead of delivery.

The history of this company shows us that sometimes the inventor of a new product fails and other companies take it from that point and with some innovations of the initial concept they are able to be successful.

Think about this example: what has Apple invented? Nothing (or almost nothing), they “only” incorporate some innovations to old products.
