Presence of La Salle-URL at CLADEA and ACOFI international conferences
The recently elected President of the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation (IASP) and CEO at La Salle Technova Barcelona, Josep M. Piqué, served as speaker at conferences of ACOFI and CLADEA, both in Colombia.
The Colombian Association of Faculties of Administration, ASCOLFA, together with Colombian Schools affiliated to CLADEA and ASCOLFA, conducted during the first week of October 2016 the 51st CLADEA Annual Meeting 2016 in Medellín, Colombia. The central theme was: "Innovation in business schools" with which was intended to share experiences and theoretical and practical advances in both academia and the business and social sectors. The central speakers who were invited are recognized worldwide in the proposed themes, so Josep M. Piqué, as representative of IASP and La Salle Technova Barcelona, played a major role in the conference.
Piqué introduced the La Salle Technova Barcelona model to business schools, and the idea of introducing an innovation park in campus as a possibility to incorporate in Latin America. In addition, he deepened in the presence of La Salle in the territory, as it has a strong partnership with several universities as ESAN. Francesc Miralles, dean at La Salle-URL, also participated in the conference. After his trip to Medellín, Piqué travelled to Cartagena to attend the ACOFI conference, a new edition of the International Conference on Engineering Education.
The Colombian Association of Faculties of Engineering (ACOFI) held from October 4 to 7 in the Convention Centre of Cartagena of Cartagena de Indias the conference whose theme was "Innovation in engineering schools: change for competitiveness and sustainability".
On this occasion, Piqué introduced Technova Tool KIT for developing entrepreneurial ecosystems, a system where Innovation Park and university are closely related. In addition, it involves creating special programs for the growth of entrepreneurship in universities.
Piqué also wanted to emphasize that Engineering Schools are increasingly favouring Project Management and digitization, sectors on the rise and increasingly closer to technology.
