DR. DANIEL AMO RUNS 120KM BAREFOOT THROUGH THE DAINA FOUNDATION - 2ND STAGE

The "1 euro = 1 veterinarian" initiative aims to raise funds to ensure the health of abandoned animals

As we wrote last week, on Saturday 17th the second stage of the 120 km supermarathon took place barefoot at the hands of Dr. Dani Amo, a member of the GRETEL research group.

The race, designed to give visibility to a good cause such as raising funds to pay for the operations of abandoned animals, is being carried out in collaboration with wikiloc, 226ers, Zami and laSalle among others.

If you want to collaborate with the project, it can be done by visiting the following link: https://kmxcorrer.danielamo.info/120kmx2000/

Although last week 1282 participants of the desired 2000 had been obtained (64.1%), after this past weekend we already counted 1309 collaborators, placing us at 65.45%.

This stage, which comprised 37 km in its entirety at the beginning, but ended up being 42 given the decision-making, repetitions of sections to take videos and photographs, etc. Located between Can Moret (L’Ametlla del Vallès) and the bercelonian CCAAC (Badalona), it was more complex than the first, since most of the terrain in this second section was on road, asphalt or concrete.

The tour took a total of 5 hours, which began with a pace of 4 and a half minutes per kilometer. Especially noteworthy is the hardness from kilometer 32, where 208 of the 376 meters of elevation of the stage were concentrated in the first 4 km. The condition of the road made it possible to ask at some point if the challenge was worth it. However, Master's determination led to the completion of the stage.

The result of this stage can be consulted in the summary video: https://kmxcorrer.danielamo.info/120kmx2000-2-etapa-42-km-video-reel-can-moret-ccaac-badalona/
