Anna Fusté: "Multimedia Engineering allows you to develop a profile with both a technical and creative background"

Anna Fusté, former student of Multimedia Engineering at La Salle-URL, is currently working at Cinimod Studio in London as creative software designer   and she has explained her experience. Anna opted for Multimedia Engineering because it is a technical degree but very focused on creativity and the use of technology in different media and communication processes. The degree gave her basic knowledge in various technological fields as well as a deepening of different key concepts in her career, such as creativity, design, user experience or project management, as expressed by Anna. In addition, the second course she joined the department   of Human Computer Interaction of the University, where projects of highly innovative interaction were held and where they had created the group Seamless Interaction , which focuses on developing natural user interfaces to connect the virtual world and the real world. Once she finished the degree she looked for work in companies that developed projects where interaction and creativity were the central axis. Cinimod Studio is a design studio where projects are developed in different areas: lighting, architecture and art interaction. It is a company that invests strongly in R & D, a fact that allows them to experiment with new technologies and use of leading-edge development tools. In the company, Anna works in the software department but also performs management tasks and she is involved in different processes of ideation and content creation. From her point of view, the multimedia sector is taking an important role in the field of art. Art is evolving towards new concepts and new ideas and increasingly we can see works that move away from what we know as traditional art, and the multimedia sector is essential. With tools such as video production, computer generated graphics, programming or lighting, a range of possibilities open that allow to communicate differently and create new content to convey ideas to the viewer. Finding work in London in the multimedia sector was not very complicated, says Anna, since there were many job vacancies. She explains that Barcelona is still a teenager in the multimedia field. It is in a state of growth, emerging, and is filled with start- ups and entrepreneurial people who develop very interesting projects. London, by contrast, is a giant adult in constant motion. London is a city full of multimedia companies with many resources. Anna Fusté stresses that La Salle University is a reference to study Multimedia Engineering. She notes that it is a career that allows you to develop a profile with a technical base yet   creative, and this is a very sought for profile, since it is completely versatile and provides a bridge between technical profiles which lack the artistic part and the purely creative profiles without technical expertise. In addition, La Salle is a university that provides a pretty personalized instruction. Classes have a limited number of students and this allows an education more focused on the students. Moreover, practice is widely used as the primary method of learning. Many jobs and projects done during the degree can be included as part of the CV. She also assures that the degree gave her a solid foundation for the type of work that she is currently developing. For future workers in the multimedia sector, who are still students, she recommends that they learn how to use the resources provided by the degree by entering in a department or joining a group, such as the Photography club. And above all, to boost their creativity to the fullest.
