La Salle-URL and Euroleague Basketball put Google Glasses on the court

Google's smart glasses were the theme of the last day of the Euroleague TOP16, with the game between FC Barcelona and Kutxa Laboral. This groundbreaking event was possible due the the collaboration between La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL and Euroleague Basketball, which aims to generate synergies between tachnology and top-level sport. Through this initiative, fans can enjoy the content generated by the Google Glasses worn by some of the players, coaches and refrees throughout the game. Thursday's game was the fist at European level with this technology. Chris Kennett, director of the university degree in Management of Business and Technology of La Salle-URL, claims, "We are very proud to have the confidence of the Euroleague Basketball to launch this pilot project as part of such a prestigious international sporting event". He also adds, "Introduction of Augmented Reality in basketball can mark a new milestone in the use of new technologies applied to competitive sport". On the other hand, the Director of Communications and Branding of Euroleague Basketball, Alex Ferrer Kristjansoon, said, "this collaboration with La Salle-URL will allow to explore the possibilities offered by Google Glasses, experimenting with new tools for basketball professionals and with new ways to bring fans to the action and to their idols". Google Glasses will also be present, with the support of La Salle-URL, in the Euroleague Final Four games, to be played from 16 to 18 May in Milan.
