La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL and EuroLeague Basketball organize STREET TECH BASKET

Between December 27th and January 4th, the XD YOUNG FEST had place within the framework of the Saló de la Infancia (Chidhood Fair), the first youth festival of entertainment and multimedia experiences held in Barcelona. The festival, aimed at boys and girls between 12 to 17 years old, has areas devoted to X-SPORTS, TECHNOLOGY, MUSIC and TRENDS. In the space of TECHNOLOGY, La Salle Campus Barcelona and EuroLeague Basketball, organized an activity called STREET TECH BASKETBALL , combining the latest technology with Basketball in a urban environment. Participants in this activity experienced how technology can interact with sport through electronic devices that generate data in real time to measure the game and to improve and share it via social networks. To make these interactions possible, La Salle used Google Glasses to follow the activity from the player's eyes and Basketball balls 94Fifty with sensors inside, allowing to see the different launch variables and suggestions for delivering in a more effective way and to improve the technique to score, from the mobile phone. Currently the ball is being sold for recreational use but can also be used professionally. Both  Princeton and Kansas universities are using it in their training sessions.
