Dell and Sonicwall Solutions
In today's topic we will be talking about the solutions given by Dell and Sonicwall for the design and creation of a next-gen data center.
First, we will focus on Dell, because is the enterprise that we will be focussing on the servers and LAN equipment area.
If we take a look on Dell's latest product releases, the enterprise is focussing on: eliminating redundancy and unifying management and reduce operations cost while increasing productivity.
They want to achieve that by taking their efforts on:
- Converged solutions: Unifiying servers, storage and networking.
- Virtualization: as a way to reduce costs and improve assets usage.
- Using high efficiency servers: Like the PowerEdge line.
- Providing specific solutions over Enterprise IT structures management.

On the other hand we have SonicWall, the enterprise that we have been assigned to control and deal with all the security issues.
SonicWall was originally a private company focussed on content control and network security.
On 2012, Dell signed an agreement to acquire SonicWall, so actually, SonicWall lives as a department on Dell focussed on security and firewalls.
The enterprise offers us a wide range of products and last generation firewalls, but the latest product release that is completely capable of perform at the highest performance in our Bank Data Center scenario is the SonicWall Supermassive E10000 series.
This product offers us very specific features we well need on our scenario:
- Protection against all types of threats and intrusions.
- Security over multi-gibabit speeds with ultra-low latency.
- Real-time visualization over bandwidth usage and threats.
- Easily scalable to adapt the equipment to our requirements and with the potencial to expand in the future.
