La Salle-URL contributes to the visit of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to Barcelona

The European division of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) carries out annual visits to different cities in Europe for its members. This year between April 14th and 17th they will come to Barcelona. The commitment of our city to build new buildings and revitalize the existing ones has not decreased, with projects using unique and innovative strategies and interventions ranging from small to urban scale. In addition, the city environment also moves to projects so far ignored, as the completion of the Sagrada Familia or the restoration of modernist buildings such as the Hospital de Sant Pau. AIA's visit will delve into four different parts of the city, each with its unique context, as Plaça de les Glories and its surroundings, the Raval, the Hospital de Sant Pau or Born Market and Sant Antoni. Architecture students from La Salle-URL will have the opportunity to accompany and guide them in some of these visits, and different teachers from the school will also be present among the many talks and different conferences. Among them, the Director of the School of Architecture, Dr. Robert Terradas, who will talk about the restoration of Drassanes; the teacher Jordi Mansilla, about Plaça de les Glories, or Pedro Garcia Hernandez that will guide them through the visit of the studio of the architect Ricardo Bofill.
