HP Barcelona graduates its 5th promotion of dual training program for young talents 'Innotalent'

The International Center HP Barcelona has welcomed the graduation ceremony of 63 students of its fifth promotion 'Innotalent', the dual training program for HP Barcelona promoted in collaboration with La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL and Leitat. The objective of this program is to enhance the talent of recent graduates in higher engineering and scientific careers through innovation and dual training, establishing quality links between universities and businesses and creating jobs with high added value. Innotalent forms highly qualified professionals who enter the labor market quickly. Of 63 graduates, HP has already confirmed 20 of them joining the staff, a figure that could double in the coming months. Program members have worked for two years in international projects of the R&D and Operations HP Barcelona departments, many of them associated with 3D business, whose world headquarters is located in this center. This practical training has been supplemented with more than 550 hours of academic training by La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL, focused on innovation, industry applications as well as skills for project management. The collaboration of this university allows to recognize the knowledge acquired as part of the University Master's Degree in Project Management from La Salle, a master's degree of recognized prestige that has the accreditation of the Global Accreditation Center (GAC) of the Project Management Institute (PMI), being the first and only university in Spain to receive this accreditation. Leitat collaborates in the promotion and selection of new graduates, carrying out individualized monitoring throughout the program. The researcher Nuria Oliver, Director of Research in Data Science at Vodafone and Chief Data Scientist at Data-Pop Alliance, has served as sponsor of the promotion. At the event also participated Ramon Pastor and Xavier García, both Vice Presidents and Managing Directors of HP; Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL; and Joan Parra and Sergi Artigas, CEO and Innovation Director at Leitat. Innotalent was born in 2010, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the International Center HP Barcelona, within a framework of efforts to promote innovation in our environment and contribute to the development and industrial growth. Since then they have received more than 8,000 applications from universities around the Spanish state. In the five editions completed have participated 186 engineers, of which 105 have been hired after graduation to join the R&D team of HP. HP Barcelona maintains a firm commitment to talent, a bet that began three decades ago and that has allowed it to become one of the centers of reference in innovation within the multinational. The center has the most important R&D HP laboratory outside the United States, is in a period of growth, and continues to work on attracting new talent to fill vacancies in business large format and 3D printing.
