La Salle-URL will pose on how Municipal Museum of Tossa should be

Last weekend students of Architecture of La Salle-URL visited the Municipal Museum of Tossa to provide ideas and solutions to the access problems of the site. Students of the Research Group in Mediterranean Architecture (IAM) are conducting a workshop to raise ideas and solutions to infrastructural problems of the museum that prevent it to be part of the official network of museums of Catalonia. The objective of the workshop is to make architectural proposals in a high historical and patrimonial content area, with a strong identity, which has been excluded from the register of museums of the Generalitat mainly due to its lack of accessibility. In addition, the workshop also aims to work aspects such as energy efficiency, climate conditions, the tour of the museum, or the technical part of the museum, such as the file room or the workshop. The Research Group in Mediterranean Architecture of La Salle-URL aim is research and dissemination of architecture in the Mediterranean environment, in the areas of urban planning and building, looking a cross-sectional view in the architectural project. The research group is focused on the study of the characteristic mechanisms of Mediterranean construction, from design criteria, observing for example the principles of implementation to the territory, the use of materials and constructive systems, or the repeated presence of intermediate spaces and climate protection systems. The workshop began on 17 February in Barcelona with the presentation by teachers, and last weekend the students visited the museum. The results of this work, scheduled to be completed in late March, will be presented at the university and in Tossa.
