The ‘Construction Tech Startup Forum’ was held within the framework of REBUILD 2019

Construction Tech Startup Forum took place on September 17 th, during the REBUILD2019 – National Congress of Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0, in Madrid.

This initiative brings together the future leaders of the building industry through startups that surprise the world with innovative and disruptive solutions, capable of transforming the sector with the use of advanced technology or with the proposal of new business models.

The forum started with a round table called “a € 1.6 billion jackpot for anyone who disrupts” to uncover the real state of 2 start-ups that have enjoyed a scale-up and that together with corporate decision makers analyzed the future of these new business initiatives.

After that an impressive line-up of start-ups (such as Projectum.es, Akiles Technologies, ENGIDI, dypsela, VT Lab, Alfred Smart Systems, OGUN Construction Technologies, Bendita Llave, iLuxenio, BIM&CO  and Honext) were selected to make themselves known in front of consolidated companies in the sector, investors and other specialized audience.

Likewise, prior to the presentation of projects, Lucas Galán, Product and Innovation Director of Neinor Homes, company that sponsored this initiative, took part in the day claiming that "startups are an ally of traditional companies in the sector. In a global and connected world, only through open innovation and collaboration with the rest of the agents of the innovation ecosystem is where knowledge, technologies, resources and talent are found outside the limits of companies ”.

Among all of them, BIM & CO was chosen as the winner of the REBUILD 2019 Startup Award. when Muriel Bourgeay, Country Manager of the entity,received the recognition,she showed herself very grateful to the organization and assured that “it is fantastic to have the opportunity to participate in This type of events in the sector, which do not usually bring together such varied focuses, such as BIM or Digital, along with other issues outside of construction. I am pleasantly surprised."

Finally, with the participation of various stakeholders from the financial and construction world, the panel “The transformation of the Construction Ecosystem” took place, this section talked about the changes observed in the union of these two sectors.
