Data Center Security

A data center hosts critical data and contains a lot of important information, including customer information, intellectual property, and other business-critical data. Data center are having a high impact these days and they will become more important to the companies and will continue to be the target of advanced malware and other cyber attacks.

That atacks have evolved, atackers can create target and costumize malware wich can pass easily undetected throw traditional data center, so in order to stop them is needed a strong and updated security.

Also in order to avoid atacks is important to know and eliminate vulnerabilities. Some of the more common are:

• Server backups
• Centralized logging and monitoring
• User account administration
• Administrative remote access

The best ways to remove the vulnerabilities are: invest in administrative tools, assign unique and strong passwords, use centralized authentication management and use of software like firewalls.

In the case study I will implement the security of the data center with the solution of Palo Alto networks.

• Users: Typing users and devices regardless of location, to applications with User-ID and GlobalProtect. Differentiate data center access based on users, device and endpoint profile.
• Content: Scanning content and protecting against all threats, including targeted ones, known and unknown with Content-ID and WildFire.
