Network Configuration

What’s up GG’s? Today, I will talk you about the network configuration of Data Centers, and especially with the following questions: “How can we solve the different network’s exigencies?”.

We will need our different constructor to answer this question! HP here for the platform of the server and the LAN!

HP wants to facilitate the transition to the cloud computing thanks to his datacenter HPN. It’s a solution about interconnecting datacenters with different technologies to help organization to extend quickly and easily their stack 2 networking to different datacenters. This is DCI (Data Center Interconnect). It is compatible with current IP network infrastructure, the availability is optimal and connection are reliable.

HP offers different power supply for his server, like the HPE 900 W Gold. This power supply can be configured to take charge of redundancy. Few reminders, redundancy is the action to duplicate group of materials to have operations without interruption. If one group is out of order, the second one in standby will take over.c04527164

What about STP? The Spanning Tree Protocol? Another reminder: it is a network protocol that will ensure a kind of “loop-free” topology for your Ethernet network. STP is in direct link with redundancy, because a good network will need solution in case of one of his group of materials is out of order.

In STP, there are different phases: the choose of a root switch, of the root port for each switch, of the designed port for each segment and then the blocking of the others ports.

But, to remove STP, HP uses VMware vSwitches that can’t be interconnected on the same server. Ethernet loops will not exist in the virtual topology because they can’t, and this is why STP is not required and is not present in a vSwitch.Logo_HP

You can read this report from HP where you can find more information about vSwitch, the virtual idea and topology of HP. You should read it, really!

That’s all for today GG’s! Thanks for following our blog, stay tuned and we’ll see you next week for more posts! Take care of yourself!
