Security in DC, Juniper's solution

In our today's post we are going to focus on security. As we are currently working on a data center solution, our post is going to introduce Juniper's solution because is our brand choice for this part.

So the first question, that we could think might be...Why Juniper?

Within the next lines, you will know the answer...

Juniper’s Software-Defined Secure Network gives us an end-to-end network visibility that secures the entire network, physical and virtual.

There are different blocks for the Software-Defined Secure Network that combine policy, detection, and enforcement with a comprehensive suite of products that centralizes and automates security.

A short definition of policy, detection and enforcement, will be very interesting in order to understand a little bit more what does this platform bring to us:

• Policy: Simplified, centrally managed policies are intelligible for all devices on a heterogeneous network.
• Detection: Threat intelligence is aggregated into a common, cloud-based feed that helps policy adapt for the network, based on the latest threat information.
• Enforcement: Updated policy is distributed across the network, dynamically, in real time.

The Software-Defined Secure Network becomes a single enforcement domain in which every element becomes a policy enforcement point.

So the best thing here is, that every element has their own security and as a consequence, the whole network become much secure and robust against malicious attacks.

We are going to show some examples of different products that a company can use for the security purposes of their network.

SRX Series Services Gateways

Security director

Junos Space Security Director is a network security management product that offers efficient, highly scalable, and comprehensive network security policy management.

cSRX container firewall

Compact footprint, high-density firewall for virtualized and cloud environments. Also provides advanced security services, including content security, AppSecure, and unified threat management in a container form-factor. With its small footprint and Docker as a container management system, cSRX enables agile, high-density security service deployment.

This are different tools and devices that we can use in a network.

Regarding our data center, we have started the post talking about Juniper as a solution for us, but we haven't mention yet. Hence, now is time to say something about that. For our bank data center, the most interesting solution will be using the cSRX container firewall, as well as the security director in order to have a control and a visual canvas of everything that occur in the network.

cSRX is recommended for virtualized environment and this is what our data center will be. So this solution fits perfectly our requirements.
