Jaume Pla, president of the Agrupació de Joves Arquitectes de Catalunya (AJAC)

Jaume Pla, professor and former student of the School of Architecture and Building Engineering La Salle-URL (ETSALS), was recently elected president of the Agrupació de Joves Arquitectes de Catalunya (AJAC). Jaume Pla is, at the same time, coordinator of the Barcelona Architecture Festival - 48h Open House BCN and CoChair of Emerging professionals of the AIA Continental Europe.

The AJAC is the Catalan platform that brings together young professionals in the discipline to "feel and be felt". For 25 years he has given voice to young architects. "We publicize the potential and high quality of emerging professionals, representing the sector before the institutions and working for the improvement and defense of the group", explains Jaume Pla.

Since its creation, the AJAC has acted in three areas. On the one hand, in the architectural field, calling every two years the AJAC Awards for young architects to publicize the work and talent of Catalan professionals, also organizing conferences and social gatherings. Second, in the professional field, AJAC facilitates the first steps of new architects. And finally, in the cultural field, it listens and channels the concerns of architects and is involved in the dissemination of the discipline to society.
