Second International Workshop OIKONET - Cottbus, Germany, 1-6 June 2015

The second international OIKONET workshop will take place in the Department of Architecture of Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus, from the 1st to 6th of June 2015. This workshop will focus on exploring the complementarity of growth and contraction, two patterns of urban development exemplified by the cities of Berlin and Cottbus, respectively. About fifteen students and twenty teachers from fifteen architecture and urban planning schools, members of OIKONET, are expected to participate. Students of the Architecture School of La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL have been invited to this workshop. The OIKONET project will be responsible for the costs of travel and accommodation. Applicants must be students in third, fourth or fifth year degree with a   good academic record and a good knowledge of English. Candidates needs to send a short text to info@oikonet.org - before March 30th, 2015 - explaining why they would like to participate in the workshop. Two of them will be chosen to participate in preparatory activities to be undertaken in the OIKODOMOS Virtual Campus during April and May. OIKONET is a European project funded by the Erasmus program of the European Union, which aims to create a platform for collaboration to study contemporary housing from a multidisciplinary and global perspective to encompass the multiple dimensions that determine the forms of housing in modern societies today: architectural, urban, environmental, economic, cultural and social. Thirty-four institutions around the world, including architecture and urbanism schools, research institutes, local authorities and community and professional organizations, are participating in the project.
