HP products for a data center and fortinet solution
Hi everyone, today we'll see what are the best solution for designing a data center HP and Fortinet have to offer.
First a bit of history, HP (Hewlett Packard) has been the leader of the PC manufacture from 2007 to 2012. Their strategy change a bit they specialized in developing and manufacturing computing, data storage, and networking hardware, designing software and delivering services. (source)
According to HP there is four points of focus:
For the switches there is four models suitable because we need that the switch are compatible 40G and 100G and only those four haven't got a fixed configuration. (We'll explain all the technical term in an article later which will be about each of this point)
In the same way only nine routers are available because their configuration is not fixed and we need the material to be modular.
HPE flexfabric is particular, it is a material designed especially for an agile data center automated. We'll see this in one post later.
The open network is not interested to design a data processing center. It is a cloud based solution, I don't really see why they put it in their data center webpage but whatever.
Fortinet is a security company created in 1999. They focused on network security. Their best product is FortiGate Firewall.
The solution they propose is a Data Center Firewall whick Key Features and Benefits are

- Up to 300+ Gbps firewall appliance or 1Tbps+ chassis throughput
- IPv6 hardware-accelerated performance parity
- Compact, power-efficient form factors
