Philosophy, politics and economics | Current situation and challenges

These pillars allow us to analyze global problems in a holistic manner, assessing their economic effects, ethical dilemmas and political contexts.

From ethics in artificial intelligence to sustainability policies and the digital transformation of the economy, these areas provide a critical basis for analyzing and addressing contemporary issues.  

How do philosophy, politics and economics combine to solve contemporary dilemmas? What are the challenges we will face in the future?  

Philosophy as the basis of political and economic thinking  

Philosophy is the basis that structures political and economic thought, providing the conceptual and ethical tools to understand and formulate theories about justice, power, freedom and equality.  

Philosophy, moreover, allows us to question and redefine the concepts of democracy, rights and sovereignty, while in economics it helps to analyze issues of resource distribution, welfare and equity. Thus, philosophy not only forms the theoretical basis on which economic policies and systems are built, but also provides a critical framework for reviewing and adjusting such systems in the face of the social and ethical changes of each era. 

The role of politics in today's world  

Today, politics is the mechanism through which decisions are made that affect society as a whole. However, political structures face numerous challenges, from extreme polarization to corruption and inefficiency.  

Political challenges  

One of the greatest political challenges in today's world is increasing polarization. Ideological divisions have intensified, making consensus and cooperation difficult. In addition, corruption remains a persistent problem, undermining public confidence in political institutions.  

The economy: engine of change and source of inequality  

The economy is a key driver of social change, but it is also a source of significant inequalities. Globalization, automation and climate change are just some of the factors that are reshaping today's economic landscape. 

Economic challenges and solutions  

One of the main economic challenges is growing inequality. While globalization has lifted millions of people out of poverty, it has also widened the gap between rich and poor.
