Venture Emergence in Technology-based Firms

Another PhD candidate of the Innova Institute that shared his research work last december was Ferran Giones. Under a similar line of research (entrepreneurship), Ferran's main interest is on "Venture Emergence in Technology-based Firms".  Find the abstract of his research-in-process below:

"Technology-based entrepreneurship is regarded as a key engine for economic and social development, nevertheless we still know little on how technology-based firms manage to activate their first sales and achieve venture emergence. Although entrepreneurship research has gained an understanding on venture performance in stable and mature markets, we have observed that for dynamic technology markets we need an expanded theoretical framework to explain entrepreneurship processes such as venture emergence.

This research uses signaling theory to describe the venture emergence process of new technology-based firms (NTBFs) and proposes using marketing and technology innovation theories new valuable signals. We propose to test the hypothesis using a longitudinal data set to test the causal relationship of the signals and the NTBF’s venture emergence."

We would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate Ferran for his great job!
