Two students from La Salle-URL design a lighting project for Pati Ca l'Ardiaca, a Renaissence patio of Barcelona

Among the activities of Saint Eulalia Festivities in Barcelona, Pati Ca l'Ardiaca, in the Catalan capital was lit with an installation recreating one of the most basic and primitive lighting concepts. Jaume Pla and Sergi Marzo are the students of the Higher Technical School of La Salle who were commissioned to recover this ancient illumination system. In the area of Aragon, patios are named moon, as a metaphor that, according to the young students, "unifies the different domains and is the shared element between the indoor and outdoor space." Regardless of the itinerary followed, in the patio the unity of the whole is perceived from different perspectives. The future architects add that "we want the visitor to experience the architecture contained in this space, we want them to observe the relevance that the moon takes when classifying spaces." With this project, supervised by the Professor of the Higher Technical School of Architecture of La Salle-URL, Isabela Renteria, and the architect Juan Briz, it is possible to see the space illuminated in the dead of the night by the reflection from a single point, like a small moon. A Moon Point illuminates Ca l'Ardiaca.  Visits were open on Friday, 7th February, Saturday, 8th February from 18:30 to 23h and on Sunday, 9th February from 18:30h to 21h.
