eHealth: technology at the service of people's health

This March La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL hosted two events related to the application of technology in the health sector. The eHealth concept, which also includes mobility solutions for the field of health (mHealth solutions), was at the center of the first ceremony presided by the councellor of the Sarria-Sant Gervasi district in Barcelona, Joan Puigdollers, and which counted with the participation of Joan Cornet, director of the mHealth Competence Center and Gonçal Bonhomme, Director of Innovation at Orange Catalunya, among others.  In another breakfast symposium organized by La Salle-URL, the use of technology in the field of Health as a decisive factor for the sustainability of the health system was discussed. This edition of La Salle Breakfast on eHealth was attended by experts such as Oriol Viaplana  executive from IBM. La Salle Campus Barcelona is one of the university centers of reference in the field of social technology. This placement is based on the experience of the Campus research groups work on areas like health care and therapeutic application of robotics and artificial intelligence in the prevention of disease. La Salle's experience in this field has given way to a new specialization course on eHealth which will start the following 25th April with the support of Sant Joan de Deu Hospital, Col·legi Oficial d'Infermeres i Infermers (Nursing Association) in Barcelona and the Fundació Tic Salut.
