A project of La Salle-URL in the exhibition "Chapuzón Urbano" at the Roca Barcelona Gallery

On January 26th, the Roca Barcelona Gallery opened "Chapuzón Urbano ", an exhibition that explores major international swimming pools and urban projects that aim to transform urban rivers and ports in completely new sustainable leisure areas. The exhibition, which could be visited in the Roca London Gallery before coming to Barcelona, is commissioned by Jane Withers, design consultant and co-founder of Wonderwater. The sample consists of five major projects that illustrate how architecture and design can transform the rivers into urban spaces offering citizens new leisure perspectives: + Pool (New York), Thames Baths Project (London), Copenhagen Harbour Baths, King's Cross Pond Club (London) and House of Water (Copenhagen). A project on the River Besós created by the studio OAB (Office of Architecture in Barcelona) by Carlos Ferrater is also shown. In addition to these six projects, there are four projects by schools of architecture in Catalonia (ETSAB, La Salle-URL, and EAR and School of Architecture-UIC Barcelona), involved in the framework of a competition organized by the Roca Barcelona Gallery. The aim of this competition was to create a sustainable leisure space in Barcelona, specifically in the Besós River, the Llobregat River or at the port of Barcelona. The project of La Salle-URL students, "In Between" presents a proposal of the port of Barcelona.
