Google Maps is powered by generative AI to provide up-to-date and accurate information about more than 250 million places.

Google intends to integrate its AI, Gemini, into its products.

Google Maps is enhanced with generative AI to provide updated, precise information on over 250 million places. This technology offers data integration with third-party apps for real-time place information, allowing developers to make AI-generated responses more relevant and contextual, such as place details and recommendations. Additionally, location summaries will be available in Rivian vehicles, enhancing the driving experience with points of interest.

Gemini integration in Google Earth provides deep visual understanding of locations with AI-generated descriptions. This feature generates summaries of natural and urban spaces, making it easier for users to visually explore the world with auto-generated insights. Urban planners can leverage this technology to assess areas and access frequently updated data, optimizing urban planning. Google Earth thus becomes a key tool for sustainable and smart city projects.
