GTM PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST URBAN SOUND SYMPOSIUM AT GHENT UNIVERSITY

The first International Urban Sound Symposium aimed at bringing together practitioners and experts that are confronted with urban sound in their professional activities. From 3 to 5 April 2009 around 100 people attended the workshop, which included invited plenary talks by eminent researcherspanel discussions, and poster presentations focused on three main topics: The sound(scape) of the citySound technologies and  Sound in urban planning and design.

 Rosa Ma Alsina and Francesc Alías, both from the Signal Processing area of the Grup de recerca en Tecnologies Mèdia (GTM), participated in the poster session of the workshop by presenting the results of the LIFE DYNAMAP project related to GTM experience on discarding anomalous noise events in real-time for road traffic noise mapping together with the preliminary results obtained from the perceptive evaluation of non-traffic urban life noise events.
