GTM's techology in the Biennal Ciutat i Ciència: Serendipitat

On February 9, the Media Technologies Research Group participated in one of the central events of the Biennal Ciutat i Ciència from Barcelona. Serendipitat, led by Mara Dierssen and Rosa Alsina, was a walk through neuroscience and technology, accompanied by art, which was present through two painters who immortalized what happened on the stage of the Petit Palau de la Música.

An overview of the event

Robodream, with Raquel Ros, Leonardo Pereira and Rafel Jaume, transported us to the future with the emulation of the cerebral reading of movements. The Colored Music, with Marc Freixes and Victor Saenger, captured the essence of the feelings of our dancer and the music to embrace her in her dance. The Musical Vision, with Xavier Sevillano, interpreted as music the picture that Cristina Curto had painted during the event.

Our researchers, Rosa Maria Alsina and Raquel Ros during the performance.

As a result of a collaboration with the Centre de Regulació Genòmica (CRG) and StarLab from Barcelona, Serendipitat showed how science, technology and art necessarily have points in common, which allow new ideas to occur.
