La Salle Technova y Viladecans organize a Hackathon of IOT
On November 22nd and 23rd, the city of Viladecans was involved in solving challenges to improve smart workspaces with the use of the Internet Of Things (IOT).
to find technological solutions that provide intelligence to workspaces.
The project was that people who signed up for the Hackathon IOT - Espais Treball Intel-ligents would have to train in groups, so that in 27 hours they could solve challenges to improve working conditions and create intelligent workspaces.
The activity began on Friday, November 22nd, with the opening of the mayor of Viladecans and with the presentation on IOT by Josep M Piqué, executive president of La Salle Technova, the innovation park from the University La Salle Campus Barcelona.
The groups started working from Saturday until 7pm on Sunday and had the possibility of using some electronic kits provided by the City Council.
In parallel, on Saturday, there was another hackathon focused on children aged 15 to 16 from institutes in Viladecans. First, they had a workshop to learn how to use an electronic kit and then they could apply this technology to IOT challenges. The speaker was Oriol Baliarda, a worker at the startup éKratos, located at La Salle Technova.
The winning projects of the adult Hackathon were, in the first place (€ 1,500 in electronics material), Kubic, a cube that sends data on the working conditions of the workspace (such as light, humidity, etc.). And secondly, Vprint, a printer that prints the requests through Alexa. The second won € 500 in electronic devices. The awards were presented by the mayor of Viladecans Carles Ruiz.
