CTMedia participates at IEEE Conference on Evolutionary Computation

The Center of Technologies for Media (CTMedia) La Salle participated in the 2010 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI), held on July 18-23, 2010 in Barcelona (Spain). Lluís Formiga presented the work entitled “Evolutionary process indicators for active IGAs applied to Weight Tuning in Unit Selection TTS synthesis” which was conducted jointly with Dr. Francesc Alías from CTMedia and Dr. Xavier Llorà from National Centre for Supercomputing Applications. The paper was presented on the special session entitled Interactive Evolutionary Computation. The Evoutionary Computation Conference (CEC) section of the congress contained 622 accepted research papers from an overall of 1027 submitted (60%). The work presents a further step on the cost function optimization for TTS systems by means of automatic perceptual evolution. The slides can be downloaded on the following link [pdf]
